Some ultra nationalists in Serbia want to name a street in Novi Sad after Milosevic; others propose the street should honor Milosevic's victims and be called "Slobodan Milosevic's Victims Street."
Personally I prefer not to have Milosevic's name mentioned at all in the street title; even in a street honoring the victims (although I applaud the sentiment behind it).
I would rather see the street be named after a human rights activist or someone of that nature.
I know in Mississippi they recently named the strip of highway where Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman, and James Chaney were killed by mebers of the KKK/police the "Schwerner, Goodman and Chaney Memorial Highway."
There is a similar highway named after KKK murder victim Emmett Till.
Do they have streets named after victims of recent atrocities in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia? I know they have streets named after historical figures, writers, soldiers, etc.

Its truly disgusting the way street names are abused like this.
Did you know that in Croatia only 3 towns DONT have a Franjo Tudjman street. Osijek, Pula and Rijeka.
Perhaps Daniel can tell you about the case of Alija Izetbegovic street in Sarajevo (I dont know what happened in the end). One of Alijas stated wishes (credit to him for this) was his insistence that after his death no streets should be named after him. Of course that didnt stop his party from trying to change the name of the main street in Sarajevo (marsala tita? - cant remember) to Alija Izetbegovic street after he died.
If it were upto me I would freeze street names in Serbia (and elsewhere) because politicians obviously arent grown up enough not to try to abuse them. And the normal, hapless public dont even know what half the street names are anymore.
