Film: Statement 710399

The collective experience is comprised of individual stories and experiences. And the stories of individuals form part of the collective experience. A new documentary, Statement 710399 by Refik Hodzic focuses on the indvidual stories of four men who survived the genocide in Srebrenica and who were taken in by a Serb family; only to disappear again.

Is the film about the four survivors whom Nesko and Slobodan Djokic helped (and got punished by Drago Nikolic for doing so)? http://www.sense-agency.com/en/stream.php?sta=3&pid=9558&kat=3

I'm not positive but I would assume so. It is a pretty unique event to happen twice.

I would lay money that it is the same guys. I think it's good there's a film about this case, not all the Serbs did bad things in the war, and it's very important to remember that many did not support ethnic cleansing.

Katja, it's important to remember the small heroes who count for more in the end than all the monsters. Viktor at Belgrade 2.0 comemorated the anniversary of Srdjan Aleksic who died after being beaten up when he saved the life of a Bosniak neighbour. Honour to their name.

Katja, Owen, I completely agree with your sentiments; and that is why this film is so important. Often people like Srdjan Aleksic are completely unknown; while war criminals and war profiteers are well known, and at times, even lionized, throughout the Balkans.

As far as I am concerned, those Serbs who condemn Srebrenica genocide denial and those who helped defend values of Bosnian multi-culturalism are wonderful human beings.

The difference between bad Serb and good Serb, or bad Bosniak and good Bosniak - is his/her opinion.

Nasty people will say all kinds of stuff with their dirty tongues to offend others. I had today one individual commenting on my blog for the purpose of minimizing the number of killed in Srebrenica. Of course, he failed to get the facts straight before he commented. I approved his message anyways as an example of his ignorance to the facts.
