Of Bridges

Two recent stories about bridges: one real and symbolic, the other symbolic. One destroyed and one created.


November 9th was the anniversary of the destruction of the Mostar Bridge by Croat ultra nationalist forces.
The Bridge, a symbol of Bosnia's religious diversity and Ottoman history has since been rebuilt.

And Natasa Kandic, the fearless human rights activist, will attend the ceremony for victims of the Ovcara massacre in Croatia. Over 200 prisoners of war were massacred by JNA forces 15 years ago.
