Activism: Kemal Pervanic

This is one of the most inspiring stories I have read. Pervanic is a survivor of the infamous Omarska concentration camp; after being released from the camp, Pervanic went to England where he made a new life for himself. He has written an account of his life in Bosnia and in the camps; titled: "The Killing Days."
Today Pervanic has dedicated himself not only to telling his own story, but in helping prevent present day genocides. Along with survivors from the Holocaust, Rwandan Genocide and the atrocities in Darfur; he has been a voice for the "Protect Darfur" campaign in Great Britain. Which calls for the protection of civilians at risk of genocide in Darfur. Due to the Iraq conflict, and the current conflict in the Middle East, the genocide and atrocities in Darfur have been ignored by much of the Western Media.

It is truly insulting that Chomsky has the nerve to speak of defending Johnstone's 'right to free speech.' When has she EVER been threatened with censorship? What government--even the big, bad United States--has ever tried to muzzle her?

The right to free speech means what it says--the right to communicate your views and ideas. It does not protect your ideas from criticism or even ridicule.

Johnstone has a huge martyr complex. It's hard to understand how she gets anything written with her arms nailed to a cross of her own making.

One has to understand that Noam Chomsky is leading intelectual of "the left", he is actively participating and publishing his views on Zmag/Znet's website where you can find one of bands of Srebrenica Genocide deniers and revisionists. Chomsky not only questions Srebrenica genocide, he openly associates himself with Srebrenica genocide deniers; he co-wrote a book with Edward Herman, for example.
